TV revolution marching on

Internet TV startup Brightcove lands $16.2 million funding from AOL and IAC.
Brightcove has developed Web tools to get video distributed on any number of sites and collect fees or ad revenue.
Maybe Jeremy Allaire, the Macro Flash guy, can make this venture work this time, but it certainly requires some powerful maneuver in the media industry. In any case, this is one step towards my earlier prediction on TV with no schedule.

Much of the technologies, involving P2P distribution and RSS-automated downloads, are already being developed, some even in opensource form. Take a note on Broadcatching in wikipedia.org, in contrast to Multicasting.
